One More Startup to Bring Solution for Diabetes!

Bangalore-based startup Cooey launches India’s first smart Glucometer. Diabetes is the most common disease in India. Like other devices available in the market, Cooey’s Glucometer is a small gadget that features testing strips. All the patient needs to do is place a drop of blood on the strip. It will trigger a chemical reaction that sends an electrical signal to the glucometer and generates a reading showing the sugar levels. Such devices are existing from quite a long time in India. Manu Madhusudanan is the CEO of Cooey.

Cooey is a small, portable device that can come along wherever you go. It can be connected to your phone via 3.5mm headphone jack to be on Cooey’s mHealth application. Within seconds, the reading will be displayed on your phone’s screen after you have placed a drop of blood on the strip. Cooey’s Glucometer is a perfect solution to track, record and update your health issue of diabetes.

The device isn’t battery powered. Hence, there is no question of running out of battery and your data getting disappeared. All the history is recorded in the app, which can be sent to the doctor via Whatsapp or email. There is no scope of you forgetting the diabetes logs.

Cooey’s Glucometer costs Rs. 3,000 that includes 50 testing strips, which are not reusable. The testing strips are available online for order. Recently, Cooey has raised funds.
