Meet Pepper <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Pepper is your friendly robot; just like those you have often seen in sci-fi films. No, we are not referring to the evil Skynet. In fact, Pepper is a far cry from that. It seems kind and intelligent. SoftBank developed Pepper some time ago and claims it to be capable of perceiving human emotions. Pepper has just been launched in Taiwan in its first overseas outing.<\/p>\n

Previous Sales<\/strong><\/h3>\n

It first hit the market in Japan, home to SoftBank\u2019s headquarter. The company tested the robot by selling its units to corporate enterprises. The sale was, in fact, a rental agreement for 3 years and cost around $16,000. Since its debut in October last year, Pepper has now stepped overseas for the first time.<\/p>\n

Just like it did in Japan, in Taiwan too, SoftBank has rolled out Pepper for enterprising companies only. According to insiders, the general public will have to wait for some more time before they get their hands on their own Pepper robot. Some government offices have already started using the humanoid.<\/p>\n

Pepper\u2019s Success Story Till Now<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Earlier this year, SoftBank gave Android developers a deeper access to Pepper\u2019s tech at Google I\/O. The company has also tested Pepper robot working at a Pizza Hut. The company has also showcased the humanoid\u2019s capabilities in a retail store setup. Watch this video.<\/p>\n
