Independent Consultants are required by 40 % startups

After setting determined hiring targets earlier startups are becoming eager for flexible talents.
In a survey, conducted by Flexing it, a curated online marketplace for companies and various professionals for part time assignments, shows that nearly 40 % of startups every month require independent consultants and 90 % demand these minimum once in a quarter.
“The Flexing It platform is very actively being leveraged by startups–40% of the 1,200 companies using us are startups looking to access experienced professionals on an ‘as-needed’ basis while keeping overheads low,” said Chandrika Pasricha, founder and CEO of Flexing It.
On a survey conducted on startups, 20% were internet services startups and less than 10% were brick and mortar establishments. Half of the startups were at a firm stage, which means that early adopters are a stable prototype. Excluding companies like HUL, Tata group, Abbott, Deloitte, Reliance, and Dr Reddy’s , startups are pursuing the companies services such as Shuttl, Policybazaar.com, PharmaSecure and Mubble.
“The Fleet Street category of startups like those involving bikes, roadrunners and those in the food space have traditionally hired flexi talent and they continue to do so,” said Kamal Karanth, MD, Kelly Services and Kelly OCG India. “The uncertainty around funding and valuations might have led them to strengthen their focus on flexible talent.” Flexing It gained $ 500,000 in angel funding in last October from former McKinsey partner Tilman Ehrbeck , PropTiger’s.com CEO Dhruv Agarwala and others.
