What is Greenlight ?

Georgia based startup; Greenlight has just come up with amazing solution for today’s young generation problem. If you are parent of young teenager, at times you must have encountered with dilemma whether you should give credit or debit card to your kid? What if he or she uses in wrong way? What if my kid uses money on useless stuff? Well Greenlight is solving the problem, by introducing to debit card with special parental control.

About the company

The company is backed by seed funding from its prominent team and a startup incubator located at Georgia Tech also known as Advanced Technology Development Center. Greenlight is offering FDIC-insured cards and making it affordable.

Features of the Card

It is the first card that has store-level controls such as parents can fix the specific amount one can spend in particular store like Starbucks, Amazon or Burger King. It has instant notification feature; parents can get alerted when on successful purchase, cancelled transactions, low balances. This feature is also available for kids too.  The company charges $4.99 per family per month for up to five kids. If a kid is in need of cash, his or her parents can easily transfer amount to his card. Greenlight is instantaneous and everything is updated in real-time. For e.g. even if the kid is in check-out line and realize that he is short of money,  he can request his parents for money and within little span of seconds the card is updated with parent approval.

It has mobile application for both Android as well as iOS devices. As of now the company is in plan to raise funding.
