US tech giant, Google buys French Startup Moodstocks that uses state-of-the-art technology to enable smartphones recognize whatever they are aimed at. However, the deal amount remains undisclosed. Moodstocks appealed Google because of its work in computer vision and machine learning. Moreover, the startup enables smartphones and other moving devices to identify images and objects by turning cameras into smart sensors that are capable of making sense of their surroundings. Moodstock introduced the on-device image recognition in the year 2012.

Google’s Participation in Making Computer Intelligent

Google is on its way to enable computers to see and understand the world around them the way people do. Moodstock has a small team of intelligent researchers and engineers that will soon join the Google research and development center in Paris. Machine learning is a part of Google’s offerings.

Google and its parent company Alphabet Inc. are looking forward to incorporate the image search team in artificial intelligence efforts.
