‘Global Store’ Brings Amazon U.S. to Indian Shoppers

Over 4 Million Products From International Brands
To take a giant leap ahead of its competitors, Amazon has just launched its ‘Global Store’ category where Indian shoppers will now get to shop products from Amazon U.S.
According to Amazon India Manager AmitAgarwal, this category will provide over 4 million products across 12 diverse categories including- but not limited to- shoes, accessories, watches, sports gear, home appliances and PCs.
The Idea and the Competition
Earlier this year, the company had pumped in $2 billion into in to its Indian operations. Now it plans to put in $3 billion more in an attempt to beat its competitors like Flipkart and Snapdeal. Furthermore, with its Global Store concept, Amazon.in will now be making available those products to its local buyers that were not there earlier. Making international products available here will attract more upscale customers, thus making the ecommerce giant even more formidable in the market.
Putting Things is Place
The billing for the same will be hassle-free. Amazon will accept payments in local currency via credit cards, debit cards and net banking. It also ensures customers that the prices shown on the website would be inclusive of all import duties and there will be no hidden charges at the payment gateway. The ‘cash on delivery’ is not yet available but the ecommerce store is working on this too.
