A German startup develops first light-weighted personal electric plane that uniquely takes off and lands vertically. Specially designed to suit the parking space in your garden, the eco-friendly Lilium is powered from a wall socket. Featuring a ducted fan and electric engines, Lilium is a simple, efficient and safe to operate two-seater aircraft so that it can be used in everyday life. Daniel Weigand is the CEO of Lilium.

Lilium features a touchscreen and fly-by-wire joystick controls, retractable landing gear, wing doors, large storage, panoramic windows and a battery that can be recharged from any wall plug. The startup aims to position Lilium almost next to a car. Hence, they plan to make it an affordable transport.

Undoubtedly, Lilium is a great idea. However, you never know how far it will be successful in terms of business. The plane will come in the market by 2018. It’s a long time to go!
