Fuze’s iPhone case Brings Audio Jack Back to iPhone 7
Who’s Apple to Kill Audio Jacks?
iPhone 7 killed the 3.5 mm headphone jack but is the world ready to dispense with it just yet? We don’t think so, especially in the wake of so much hue and cry after Apple’s decision came in. But worry not! Austin, U.S.A. based startup, Actual Innovation has come up with a special cover for iPhone 7 and 7s named Fuze. It seems like just another regular case for your mobile. Only it’s not! But what it offers is the ability to again be able to plug-in your favourite headphones to the new iPhone and enjoy. This itself is its biggest USP.
Entrepreneur and hardware developer, Diego Prince, leads Actual Innovation that is now running a crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo for Fuze. It offers:
- Battery Charger- The case has its own on-board battery and comes with a 2,400 mAh (for iPhone 7) and a 3,600 mAh (for iPhone 7s). And you don’t even need to remove the back cover to use this. Fuze’s design enables you to couple this battery with your phone’s battery seamlessly.
- Headphone jack- The 3.5 mm jack is not going anywhere. Thanks to Fuze’s ingenious design! The cover offers you the freedom to listen to music on your favourite headphones whenever you want. Air Pods are too pricey and carry the risk of getting lost. Who wants that? Plus, one has to recharge them after just 5 hours of use. Not a very good deal for music lovers!
Apart from these great features, the case is made of durable TPU and ABS plastic, something that Apple is using in making their battery cases. It will be sold at $69 a pop when they start shipping the case in December.
Do you think Apple’s decision to kill the 3.5mm jack is a right one or purely led by its profit-making aspirations? Do share your thoughts in our comment section below.
