Founders Fund and Sequoia Capital Invests in Indian Startup ClearTax

Indian startup ClearTax raises $2 million from FF Angel, the seed-stage fund run by Founders Fund and Sequoia Capital. Each firm contributed $1 million. With this, Founders fund debuts its investment in India. Just a month before an angel round of funding was held. Till date, ClearTax has successfully raised a funding of $3.3 million in total.

Archit Gupta is the founder and CEO of Clear Tax, a startup dedicated to make filing taxes online easier in India that targets the young taxpayers. ClearTax is not only about taxpaying, it is more about tax-saving. The platform guides you to figure out what deductions are eligible for and how can you get tax exemption. ClearTax makes revenue by charging users a fee and taking commission of referrals to some financial products.

ClearTax will utilize the recently raised funds to hire people for key positions, which will lead to set more ambitious targets. Lately, it had hired three top-notch engineers from Flipkart.

The aim of this startup is to have seven million Indian to pay tax on its tax return platform by the end of 2017. Out of which, three million to have by the end of this year.
