About the Funding
10i Commerce Services is a Bangalore-based ecommerce startup that has secured handsome amount of funds from Infosys Co-founder, Nandan Nilekani. The startup helps small shops to fight the online and organized retailers. 10i provides a state-of-the-art technology platform, ShopX for small traditional small retail stores to battle against e-tailers. Technology is Co-founder Amit Sharma’s passion. He believes that maximum problems in India can be solved through technology.
With the help of this funding, 10i Commerce Services is looking forward to rapidly expand across hundreds of towns and cities in India and encourage the small retail stores using its technology platform, ShopX.
About the startup
The startup was founded by Amit Sharma and Apoorva Jois last year. Besides them, its management team also includes previous L’Oreal executive Jagdish Kini and Pramod Varma, Aadhaar project architect. The level of technology, logistics, sophistication and supply it offers to small shop retailer is same as what any ecommerce or organized retail is offering.
Few words on Nandan Nilekani
Nilekani is the sole investor of this ecommerce startup, who is pouring about Rs. 25- 30 crore. According to the reports, this would be his largest investment in a startup after funding Sedemac around $7.5 million. He has backed many startups like Yatri, Systemantics, Fortigo, Team Indus, Mubble, Juggernaut, and Power2SME.
