Introduction to ShopMate

You must have witnessed best deals on online portals. However, do you really find them the best? Or do you still feel it’s overpriced? 24-year-old, young Sambhavi Sinha founded ShopMate in June 2015, a Delhi-based ecommerce startup, where online buyers can find variety of products and know the best offers available on them. To be clear, ShopMate is not another price comparison portal. The startup brings a unique concept of Expression of Interest (EOI) to give value to both, buyers and sellers. If the price is not satisfactory for any of the parties, the product can be marked as EOI. Here is when ShopMate plays its role. Within four hours, the startup will negotiate a better price from the dealer and get back to the customer. ShopMate avails the discounts from the seller using the bulk buying offer. Buyers have the option of picking up the products or getting it delivered.

With a capital of Rs. 1 crore from the founder’s friends and relatives, ShopMate operates in Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ghaziabad. The local vendors are on its platform to sell their products, giving their business a new avenue to go online. As per The Economic Times, currently, 500 sellers have partnered with ShopMate.

Future Plans

In the next two months, ShopMate plans to add two new categories, electronics and cars on its website. Initially, it just use to deal in mobiles and tablets. Now, it is into two wheelers and computers. Moreover, the startup looks forward to expand its services in Agra, Lucknow, Meerut and Chandigarh by the end of this year.
