The ultimate goal of science and technology was to lend a hand to man and his kind but somewhere during the process we lost the track of environment and our surroundings. This where Cleantech comes in, this sector mostly involves recycling renewable energy which are solar power, biomass, wind power and biofuels etc. They are quite competitive as compared to conventional technologies. Check out these amazing startups who are redefining renewable energy.
Mera Gao Power is an Uttar Pradesh startup that builds and operates on micro grids. It serves off-grid villages, dependable lighting and mobile charging services. The company’s unique model cost less than $1,000 which is first lowest cost commercial design micro-grid for rural places. The company was founded by team of three who are Sandeep Pandey, Brian Shaad and Nikhil Jaisinghani. It also won first prize at 2016 Solar for All competition.
Another startup in Texas known as Choose Energy is saving people’s money on energy costs by utilizing to 100% green product like wind power. It was founded in the year 2008 as clean technology and services. The company’s ultimate aim was to simplify electricity shopping, natural gas rates, plan terms and renewable energy options for home as well small business enterprises. Last year in March it raised $14.2 million in a Series C funding round. To date it has raised total $25.7 million.
TESSOL’s (Thermal Energy Service Solutions Pvt. Ltd.) is an award winning technology. Their products help in providing end to end solutions for sustainable agricultural and pharmaceutical cold chain. They have various deployments in different areas such as Dairy, Seafood, Meat, Bakery, Poultry, Ice Cream, Vegetables etc. and a Pan-India service network, It was founded in 2013 by Rajat Gupta with an aim to create a farm to fork cold chain in India.
Arctic Sand, another startup which was launched from MIT (the Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in 2011. The company’s goal was to save 80% of all energy that is lost in the form of heat worldwide. They produce power conversion technology devices which is developed and licensed from MIT. Their “Transformative Integrated Power Solutions,” is one of most efficient power conversion efficiency device. It recently secured raised $19.35 million in Series B funding in November of 2015. Its total raising funds now is around $28.95 million.
