Chariot Launches New Service For People Who Work In San Francisco’s Residential Area

Chariot’s Pick and Drop Services!

What does Chariot do?

In a city where public service is not so reliable, Chariot hosts a service for people who don’t work downtown. It helps commuters who need to get back to a BART stop or Caltrain station during the night time. The commuter shuttle company can transport up to 14 people at a time. The reason this service was introduced because Chariot had been driving in the mornings from residential areas to downtown and back from downtown to residential areas empty.

More about Chariot

Chariot had been charging about $4 per trip, having 6,000 monthly riders and taking 4,000 rides a day across its 13 original commuter routes. The fixed pickup spots for Chariot Direct are the same ones, which were in the standard service. Chariot identifies itself as a flexible mass transit service between public transportation and Uber. Ali Vahabzadeh is the CEO of Chariot, who wishes to serve a whole new swath of customers like fire fighters in the Presidio, school teachers in Pacific Heights, hospitality workers, workers at the Jewish Community Centre and at the Mission district.

Currently, the service is only available in San Francisco. However, it plans to expand in cities around September and later this year. Chariot is also in early talks with the city of San Francisco to officially supplement public mass transit with Chariot’s flexible public transit.
