Saina Nehwal, along with Consumer-centric fund Sixth Sense Ventures recently invested $2 Million in Soothe HealthCare. The startup is known for its female hygiene and manufactures sanitary napkins under the brand ‘Paree’.
Nowdays, celebrities, whether it is film stars or sports personalities, most of them are investing in startups. Saina Nehwal is no different. This is her first investment. Along with Nehwal and Sixth Sense, former IDFC Securities MD Nikhil Vora, who has invested $50-million fund, will hold a minority stake in the two-year-old startup.
About Sahil Dharia, founder of Soothe Healthcare
Noida-based startup, Soothe Healthcare is founded by Sahil Dharia after he quitted his esteemed position of Global head of research at Thomson Reuters in 2012. Also, he used to work for UBS investment bank and SRS Enterprise in New York. The Healthcare has set up a high-capacity manufacturing in Noida. Dharia opines that the sanitary napkins market in India is huge since it has low penetration.
The pilot study of the product has already been done in Pune and Kochi. Soon, Paree will come in the major cities.
