Apple Not Reveling Secrets Behind Acquisition of Smaller Technology Companies
Recently, Apple acquired US-based startup, Turi for $ 200 million. Turi is a machine learning platform for data scientists and developers. Apple has also acquired some other companies from machine learning space like Perception, an image recognition, and machine learning company in September 2015. Turi not only provides machine-learning products but also organizes the Data Science Summit on data science.
How the name Turi?
Turi is the latest name of the company, previously it was known as “Dato” and “GraphLab” before that. Due to some trademark issue, the names kept on changing and finally, in July this year, it was named ‘Turi’. Off late, Turi hasn’t launched any products. As per news, Turi’s staff will not move to Apple’s Cupertino HQ but stay in Seattle.
