Alchema Helps You Make Your Own Homebrewed Cider

Become a Craft Cider Maker with Alchema

U.s.-based startup, Alchema, is making a revolutionary home brewing machine for you to enjoy craft cider with your family. You just need to pick the ingredients as per your choice of recipe and Alchema will do the rest.

What is Alchema

We have seen beer brewing appliances. But Alchema steps up the game here. According to CEO and Co-founder, Oscar Chang, the machine can turn your favorite fruits into delicious ciders. Priced at $299, the machine takes fruits, sugar, water and yeast and turns them into craft cider. It mixes it up, ferments automatically and gives you your favorite cider, ready to drink. Termed as a ‘smart home brewer’, Alchema has Wi-Fi-capability too. It can connect to the iOS app where you can get numerous recipes to select from. The app also helps you keep a track of the fermentation process. Apart from ciders, the machine can also make meads and wines. It takes 1-2 weeks for making cider; less than a week to make mead; and around 4 months to produce wine. Other features include a self-sanitizing capability in the form of an in-built medial-grade UV-C-LED; the weight sensor to measure each ingredient before adding; and automatic monitoring of alcohol content, desired temperature and air pressure.

Kickstarter Campaign

After creating buzz at the HAX hardware accelerator program, the startup received help from HAX to showcase its prototype at Target and Brookstone. Alchema, which has its office in Pacifica, California, has started a Kickstarter campaign with a target of $150,000.  It plans to start shipping out in July 2017 and will release an Android app during that period.
