Aisle, A Dating Startup Raises 1.25 Crore As Funds

Aisle, a Bangalore-based matchmaking startup has raised a funding of 1.25 crore in a pre-series A round from angel investors. Aisle provides a platform where like-minded people can meet and interact with each other. Founded by Able Joseph, the team consists of eight people.. Started as a website, they have launched the mobile app for both android and IOS users. The team has identified the lack of dating platforms in India, and the innovation comes from this lack they personally felt. The registrations in Aisle are around 60-80 today where users can create their profiles and connect with others.

How Aisle Works?

Their difference lies in the handpicked membership where they screen and filter the users. They have a filter mechanism where they verify the details of the user to check credibility and then give membership. The Company has also come up with an effective revenue model. The users can sign up for free, but have to purchase the invites after which they can directly connect with the interested person.

What Aisle Believes?

The company emphasizes on the thought that in a country like India where matrimonial sites are all flourishing all over, a dating app is more like a taboo. Aisle focuses on this niche market where people are looking for healthy relationships. The founders identified a majority of couples who only look for good relationships and understand each other better before taking any steps further. And thus, for an urban and independent audience, a dating site would be a better option than jumping directly to matrimony.
