Founded in 2013, London-based hairdresser booking app Rock Pamper Scissors allows users to browse through and book local hairdressers with emphasis on individual stylists rather than the salons. The startup raises around $1.7 million in a funding round from US-based 500 Startups, a European pre-seed and seed investor Seedcamp. Many other players also invested in the app. Tom Singh, Founder of the New Look chain of high street fashion stores in the UK also got involved. Just Eat’s former CMO Mat Braddy is the co-founder of Rock Pamper Scissors.

The app integrates with the salon software to provide users with real-time availability of the chosen stylist by him. You can go through the portfolios of each stylist in order to decide your stylist booking. To help you in the decision-making process, the app displays ratings for each stylist who are also tagged with their skills. The main idea behind this app is to directly connect the users to the right stylist.

Rock Pamper Scissors lets the stylist upload their work pictures, solving the problem of “trust-factor” associated with an unknown professional styling your hair. Talking on the funds they recently received, it will be used by the startup to increase its stylist and client usage in UK. Nevertheless, the remaining fund will help in expansion of its tech team and further enhance the app and service.
