Self-driving Robots to Deliver Food in UK

Robot as Delivery Boys!

Introduction to Food delivering Robots

Definitely, robots are faster than human delivery boys. Self-driving robots are developed by UK-based startup Starship Technologies to deliver food orders, groceries and packages of European food giant Just Eat, London food startup Pronto, German package delivery firm Hermes and German retailer Metro Group. With this, it will mark its food print in Germany and Switzerland as well. After a few months, whenever you order food from Just Eat or Pronto, expect a robot to deliver your order within half an hour without experiencing accidents. The startup is the creation of Skype founders, Ahti Heinla and Janus Friis.

How the delivery process works?

Coming with six wheels and theft-prevention and nearest inch tracking features, the robot will have a security access code to receive the parcel (open the lid and collect your order). The code is sent on the mobile phone via its dedicated app. In this way, it ensures that the parcel is delivered in the right hands. The robots are monitored in control centers by humans.

Below video shows how this Starship robotic deliver works-

In general, robots reduce congestion and emissions. Starship is looking forward to expand in the US.
