Ola gets license to operate in Karnataka

New Traveling Solution for Karnataka Commuters!
Ola debuted cab aggregation in India.
It’s fortunate for Ola to avail aggregator license from the Karnataka’s transport department to kick start its operations under the state’s on-demand Transportation Technology Aggregators Rules 2016 (came into effect this April), as per news.
Rule Book
The rule clearly states that the cabs should have digital meters that print receipts and panic buttons as well as fares to be fixed by the state government. Moreover, the cabs mandatorily should have GPS/GPRS enabled monitoring system that must be shared with the transport department and the police, and yellow sign boards with ‘Taxi’ on it. Till now, the government has furnished details of 100 vehicles only and is verified by the Regional Transport Office (RTO).
Uber in the Waiting List
However, Uber is yet to get operation license from the Karnataka Government.
