eBay wants to woo more potential customers

eBay has announced that it will be acquiring Israeli startup, SlaesPredict which deals in the area of predictive analysis. This move is directed at boosting eBay’s efforts towards predictive AI and machine learning.

SalesPredict uses analytical data to predict potential customers in the market. This helps the company take necessary actions in order to convert those potential customers. eBay had recently acquired another AI startup, ExpertMaker, to strengthen its marketing capabilities. Both these moves are directed towards specializing in understanding more precisely what the customers are looking to buy. Once eBay has this information, it can begin to successfully convert more potential customers.

eBay will be absorbing some of the SalesPredict employees as well with some reshuffling in structure. SalesPredict CEO, Yaron Zakai-Or, will now join in as the director of product management for the tech.

eBay aims to become world’s most comprehensive and intuitive e-commerce platform. Acquiring and working with such startups will help it in developing its AI. This will boost its machine learning capabilities. According to Vice President and General Manager of Structured Data at eBay, Amit Menipaz, applying such capabilities to its operations, eBay shall become a world class destination for all e-shoppers.
